On April,22,2014, the appraisal meeting for PTFE architectural membrane research and production was held in Taixing city by Jiangsu Veik. All the experts of this appraisal meeting were from China Textile and Apparel Concil. Participants included the Chinese Academy of Engineering academician Mr.Sun Jingliang, Professor Chen Nanliang from Huadong University, Professor Zhang Yigang from Beijing University of Technology, Professor Wu Minger from Tongji University, Mr. Xiangyang from China Steel Construction Society Spacial Structure branch, Mr. Zhu Zhihui from Jiangsu Yuanda New Materials Joint Development Co.,Ltd. And so on.
Other distinguished experts and guests were Ms.Peng Yanli of Technology Department of China Textile and Apparel Concil,Mr.Li Jinbao from Textile Science and Technology Development Center, Mr. Li Lingshen from China Textile Industrial Associate,Vice mayor of Taixing city Mr.Jiang Ruhong.
The PTFE architectural membrane is made from the fiberglass and PTFE emulsion.
It has many perfect features, such as light in weight, strong in strength,good optical performance, good thermal property, fire retardant,and self-cleaning.
It is a high-tech product which combines architecture, structural mechanics,fine chemicals and materials. It is widely used in airport, stadium, training center,exhibition hall which need natural illumination. PTFE architectural membrane is comparatively economic, easy to install, it becomes gradually a main materials in today’s membrane structures, it is also a key breakthrough in our national 12th Five-year Plan for Industrial Textiles.
During this meeting, these experts listened to the briefing on PTFE architectural membrane from JIangsu Veik, reviewed the materials and visited the production workshop. The experts gave a very high remarks on the improvement of the production procedure in base fabric heat treatment, PTFE resin recipe, repetitious drying and sintering. All these improvement raised the flexibility, strength and optical property.
The specially designed production equipment can avoid efficiently the folding problem, the deformation,the unevenness in fabric drying and low thermal efficiency.
Jiangsu Veik also has the production capacity of 150,000sq.m.per year.
All the experts of whole appraisal meeting think that Jiangsu Veik’s PTFE membrane have reached the international standards. All the committee members agreed that the project has been appraised.
The successful development and industrialization of PTFE membrane has very great significance to break up the monopoly, to raise the technology level, to promote the membrane structure development and to build up the green eco-friendly country.
